Job Description:
Paralegal IV Provide Professional Litigation Support Services to
include performing legal research; performing records research;
witness interviews; title reviews; preparation of reports as
described below; research and response to landowner complaints.
Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for
Paralegal IV :$30- $36.32 Pay commensurate with experience. Full
time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other
possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with
or without notice. Paralegal IV Responsibilities Include: Conducts
witness interviews and prepare a record of the interviews for use
at deposition. Contractor employees shall identify themselves as a
contracted employee during phone and face-to-face interviews with
landowners. Reviews title commitments for accuracy. Create a deed
history summary. Prepares Declarations of Taking Reports, Amended
Declarations of Taking (ADT) Reports, Complaints, Notices Joint
Motions to Close, and Motions to Suppress; summarize depositions
and other transcripts; maintain case files, control exhibits, and
other materials at depositions and at trail for assigned cases.
Documents these complaints and the responses in a monthly report.
Identifies themselves as a contracted employee during phone and
face-to-face interviews with landowners. Supports and assists
attorneys in the courtroom by preparing exhibit cross-references,
and screening documents for relevance and privilege according to
established guidelines and criteria. Performs other job-related
duties as assigned Paralegal IV Experience, Education, Skills,
Abilities requested: Requires paralegal certificate. An equivalent
level of legal training may be substituted with the approval of the
CO; undergraduate degree preferred. At least 3 years of litigation
paralegal experience preferred; trial experience very helpful.
Automated litigation support experience valued. Basic legal
knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation to cite
check legal motions and memorandum and must have sufficient
experience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw to
perform basic legal research. Excellent written and oral
communication skills, thorough knowledge and hands-on familiarity
with a variety of computer applications, including: word
processing, databases (such as document review and file management
systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems. Role also
requires basic familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of
e-discovery procedures and resources. Ability to consistently
deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very
important. Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team
environment. Must be able to pass a Minimum Background
Investigation prior to starting work on site and receive favorable
adjudication of the appropriate Department of Justice background
investigation consistent with a position sensitivity level 5, which
requires the completion of an SF 85P/S, Questionnaire/s for Public
