Posting Details Position Information Posting Number SRGV4002 Working Title ERP SUPPORT SPECIALIST Number of Vacancies 1 Location Edinburg, Texas Department Financial Services-Comptroller FTE 1.0 FLSA Non-Exempt Scope of Job To provide entry level support to the ERP implementation and other project implementations as assigned. To provide routine and non-routine support for a wide range of information related applications and or provide in-depth support for a more narrowly defined applications. Description of Duties ---Learns functionality of ERP application module(s) and/or third party application(s) assigned and develops fluency. ---Assists in new or change ERP functionality and 3rd party application implementations and deployments. ---Assists in development of test plans, test scenarios, test cases and testing of releases, patches and helps with implementation of program fixes or new functionality to extend existing applications. ---Performs entry level support, assists customers with ERP/3rd party applications related issues; trouble shoots to resolve routine issues in compliance with specifications and standards. ---Refers complex or difficult issues to higher level Business Analysts for further analysis. ---Participates in usability testing, documentations, and end user functional trainings; may be involved in system integrations and analysis activities. ---Participates in project meetings with mentor BA, documents user business requirements/processes, functional needs, and recommended solutions. ---Participates as active project team member through timely completion of assigned tasks. ---Develops and documents procedures/how-to instructions to assist users with enterprise and 3rd party related issues. ---Assists with the development and maintenance of self-help guides, functional specifications, training materials and setup documents for software/module(s) assigned, as well as assists in functional training sessions. ---Reviews BIS Service Requests System daily and follows up with requesters for clarifications and/or closure. Assist customers with BIS SRS access issues. ---Performs weekly backup of internal developed MS Access databases, monthly backup of BIS hard drives; ensures monthly BIS laptops software updates/maintenance are in compliance. ---Runs reports and processes not accessible to functional users as requested. Writes simple data queries/extracts and ad-hoc reports using report writer and/or reporting tools. ---Assists senior BAs in coordinating projects, tasks, scheduling, patches/upgrades, etc. ---Assists in researching and exploring ERP application modules functionality and third-party applications. ---Facilitates ERP vendor support (e.g Oracle Support). ---May assist in business process improvement. ---Performs other duties as assigned. Supervision Received Direct supervision from assigned supervisor. Supervision Given None. Required Education Associate's degree related to functional area assigned. Preferred Education Bachelor's degree in CIS or CS from an accredited University. Licenses/Certifications None. Required Experience Two (2) years of ERP related functional experience in areas assigned, such as Accounting, Human Resources, Benefits, etc. Related experience may be substituted for education on a 2-for-1 basis. Preferred Experience Basic knowledge of Project Implementation Life Cycle, Database Structures, production control, and Pilot Room Conference. Ability to read, understand, interpret and apply instructions in ERP system manuals. Documentation Skills (Swim Diagram, Gap Analysis, Process Flow, etc.). Microsoft Projects and Visio knowledge. Equipment Use of standard office equipment. Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Exchange, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word; and other software such as screen capture and web conference tools. Working Conditions Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment; some travel and weekend work is required. Other Working knowledge of supported apps and services. Basic troubleshooting and analytical skill Strong learning ability. Excellent customer service multi-tasking ability. Strong attention to detail.
