Role Mission :The Substitute Teacher Recruiter/Traineristhe go-to person for all substitute talent needsfor specific region(s).S/he isresponsible for ensuring thatall substitutecandidates at IDEA have a positive experience throughout the hiringand onboardingprocessand that IDEAs substitute program is an on-ramp to full-time teaching and co-teaching positions.S/heleadsthe hiring,training,retention,and support ofIDEAssubstituteteachers and co-teachers to ensure all campuses have daily absences filled with ahigh-qualitysubstitute.S/he trains substitutes to prepare them for the classroom and then actively monitors and ensures high quality performance of substitutes during their assignments.

This role will support the El Paso and Permian Basin regions, but may be located in any named or future IDEA region. Remote work possible.

  • Aggressively monitor applicant poolsto ensure that there are enough strong candidates to fill vacancies and adjust actions accordingly
  • Steward quality prospects forward in the IDEA screening processfor the sub program
  • Attend and host recruitment events
  • Strategically engage in prospect meetings for individuals who qualify for high needs roles
  • Create meaningful partnerships with local organizations and schools that yield content-specific candidates
  • Manages substitute teacher pool in the Frontline system, ensuring all substitutes are available to work for their assigned region(s).

50% ofmid-year teacherand co-teachervacancies are filled by subs

  • Track and monitor all prospects regularly and their performance
  • Partner with the regional staffing team to identify trends and adjust approaches to recruitment
  • Track high-quality prospects to ensure quick conversion
  • Increase regulartouchpointswith prospects in high needs roles
  • Partner effectively with hiring managers and staffing partners to move subs into vacancies

75% of mid-year teacher vacancies are filled within2 weeks

  • Monitor overall progress for the region and communicate updates to the Regional Staffing Team
  • Monitor the pool in Jobvite to engage with high quality candidates
  • Developmechanisms to ensure hiring managersare able tohold final interviews with candidates within2weeks

95% of substitutes meet daily performance expectations

  • Train substituteson basics of IDEA culture and systems and classroom management expectations
  • Actively monitor substitute performance on campus
  • Confirm that substitutes are meeting expectations with principals and teachers
  • Conduct progressive discipline with substitutes who are not meeting performance expectations
  • Review and approve substitute teacher timesheets in a daily basis at the respective campuses where assignment was complete

90% of principals are satisfied with their substitutes

  • Train campus administrative assistants onhow to useFrontline to request and assignsubstitutesand submit feedback on substituteswho fulfill assignments on campus
  • Collect feedback from principals, teachers, and admin assistants by visiting campus andinformallysolicitingfeedback as well as holding focus groups and sending surveys
  • Observe substitutes on campus to monitor for quality
  • Problem solve where needed to resolve concernsfrom parents, students, staff or administration.

  • Education:Bachelors degree required
  • Experience:At least 3 yearsof professional experiencein staffing, project management,and/or education

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of hiring and strong candidacy best practices
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the educational environment
  • Strong critical thinking skills to effectively solve issues that arise

Salaries for this role typically fall between $51,900 and $61,800, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on individual and organizational performance and goal attainment.
