Job Description:
Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY:The primary role of the
Educators is to support the learning needs of staff and patients by
providing opportunities for the acquisition of new knowledge,
skills and behaviors in view of advancing technologies, changing
health care delivery systems, expanding staff roles, evidence base
practice and research. These opportunities include but are not
limited to orientation, continuing education, formal and informal
inservices, coaching and consulting. Furthermore, the education
department believes that South Texas Health System employee's
continuing education is a major asset in employee recruitment and
retention. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:1. Must demonstrate
commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of
Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the
Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately
reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
EDUCATION / LICENSURE:1. Graduation from an accredited school of
nursing and current licensure by Board of Nurse Examiners for the
State of Texas.2. Bachelor's with 3 yrs. nursing experience, or
Master's preferred.3. If not currently a BSN nurse must be enrolled
in BSN program and obtain degree within 12 months of hire.4. Must
have and maintain current BLS. If not already certified in ACLS,
and PALS must obtain within 6 months of hire. Must acquire
Instructor Trainer Certifications for BLS, ACLS and PALS within 2
years of employment. Certification must be in accordance with the
curriculum of the AHA, for Healthcare Provider's Program. EEO
