POSITION SUMMARY:The Director of Rehabilitation Therapy Services ensures that the highest standard of rehabilitation services is delivered and maintained. The selected candidate is responsible for goal planning, development, implementation, directing and monitoring of rehabilitation services within DHR. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction with the development and implementation of quality measures through the recruitment, development and retention of therapists, clinicians, and staff committed to excellence. Ensures that services are provided efficiently and effectively within DHR's mission, vision, and values and in accordance with safe professional practice. POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of accredited school of physical therapy required
• Valid and current Texas license as an Physical Therapist required
• CPR certification required
• At least two years of leadership experience in a hospital setting as a Supervisor of Rehabilitation Therapy Services
• Ability to motivate rehabilitation team to work collaboratively JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

    • Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practices
    • Plans, organizes, directs and is accountable for the operation of the department; ensures all department systems, procedures, activities are functioning properly; develops scope of services, short and long term goals and strategies for department which are integrated into the hospital wide strategic plan; Develops, establishes and administers the rehabilitation department policies, practices, procedures, programs, systems, etc.
    • Responsibilities include; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaint and resolving problems; managing budgets and hospital resources;
    • May practice clinically in the area of specialized training as needed.
    • Has direct oversight of Rehab Therapy, Acute Therapy, Case Managers, Assessment Coordinators, Registration Representative, Ambassador, and CMG Coordinators.
    • Works closely and coordinates with Director of Rehab Nursing Services on all policies, procedures, regulations and certifications involving the Rehabilitation Hospital.
