Since 2000, IDEA Public Schools has grown from a school of 150 students in Donna, TX, to the fastest- growing family of tuition-free, public charter schools in the United States. In the Rio Grande Valley, we are a nucleus of four counties (Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr and Willacy Counties) that work as one unit to support our children academically and holistically.

Role Mission: The Regional M anaging D irector of Staffing & Human Resources (RMDSHR) will work closely with the regional Executive Director and regional leadership team to attract, engage, select and retain high quality leader, teacher, regional team, and campus support staff candidates for all openings . They will also build and manage a team of staffing and HR staff who expertly engineer the hiring, onboarding , and employee experience at IDEA . The RMDSHR is responsible for overseeing the development of the regional recruitment strategy and managing the selection, hiring, and matriculation process for all campus & regional headquarter positions to ensure that our region has the talent IDEA requires in order to meet its yearly student achievement goals and, ultimately, 100% college matriculation. The RMDSHR partners with the Executive Director in order to articulate, define and communicate our regional point of view regarding employee retention and organizational health.



Accountabilities

100% of all roles in the region are filled by the first day of the relevant work calendar or professionaldevelopment

  • Ensur e the recruitment team identifies new pipelines for high quality talent, with a focus on secondary math and science and specialeducation
    • Coach staffing team members in field to build the capacity to attract, compel , and persuade high quality candidates to apply toIDEA
    • Ensure th e quality of candidates being sent to hiring managers meet the bar through monitoring the volume and rating ofcandidates

      85% Staff Retention , 85% Teacher Retention in r egion
      • Design, execute , and monitor a comprehensive teacher retention strategy for theregion
        • Ensure safeguards are in place so that staff are treated equitably and in alignment with our core values through the performance managementprocess
        • Design and execute a professional development sequence for leaders at all levels to become stronger peoplemanagers

          80% composite score on the Great Places to Work survey inregion
          • Ensure the region's menu of workplace benefits, rewards and perks are compelling and meet the needs of theregion
            • Execute interim surveys to gauge employee organizational health andengagement
            • Identify managers and teams who need a "health reboot" and design strategic plans to help those teamsimprove
            • Coach the team to execute strong check-ins aligned to ensuring optimum managereffectiveness

              90% unemployment claim win-rate in region on contested claims
              • Execut e strong performance management processes and documentation through the management of the HRteam
              • Monitor employee relations, mediations and the complaint process to flag for the Executive Director anyconcerns

                Achieve a r egional ARating
                • Ensure instructional and school lead team vacancies are filled within two weeks, with special emphasis on teachers of state-testedsubjects
                  • Set vision and expectation for quickly filling mid-yearvacancies
                  • Develop systems that enable the team to respond rapidly when vacanciesarise
                  • Recruit and hire top instructional talent to fill allpositions

                        Supervisory Responsibilities: management of regional staffing and HR team members



                        Qualifications:
                        • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, education, or equivalent
                        • At least 8 years'experience in departmental team management in HR or closely related field
                        • Knowledge of basic principles and practicesof human resources management
                          • Strong understanding of management principles andpersonnelsupervision
                          • Knowledge of school employment law, personnel law, and hearing procedures
                          • Ability to analyze and interpret data and statistics
                          • Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
                          • Ability to operate under immense pressure
                            Compensation
                            Salaries for people entering this role typically start between $91,100 and $112,900, commensurate with relevant qualifications and experience. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on individual and organizational goal attainment.
